Abstract

Spinal anesthesia is widely used in various surgical procedures and may affect hemodynamic and urinary function through sympathetic nerve blockade. Urine output is an important parameter for monitoring fluid balance and renal function. This study aimed to describe urine volume in patients after spinal anesthesia at RSI Purwokerto during the first six hours. A quantitative descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted among 94 patients undergoing elective surgery under spinal anesthesia, selected using purposive sampling. Urine volume was measured hourly through a urinary drainage bag for six hours and analyzed descriptively. Most respondents were female, had normal body mass index, ASA physical status I, and underwent cesarean section. Mean urine volume increased gradually from 34.73 mL in the first hour to 47.71 mL in the sixth hour. Overall, urine volume showed a gradual increase during the observation period. Monitoring urine output after spinal anesthesia remains important to assess fluid balance, renal perfusion, and postoperative physiological changes.
